What steps is the Cabinet Minister taking to address the fact that 17 per cent of elderly people have either experienced or witnessed corridor care as highlighted by Age Cymru's report: What matters to you? Headlines report June 2026?

The Welsh Government is clear that care should be delivered in appropriate clinical environments that protect patients' dignity, safety and wellbeing. I am concerned by the findings highlighted in Age Cymru's What matters to you? report and recognise the impact that long waits for admission to hospital or discharge home, and corridor care can have on older people, their families and healthcare staff.
Addressing corridor care requires action across the entire health and care system. That is why we are investing in measures that support older people to avoid unnecessary hospital attendance, improve access to urgent community services and ensure that patients can move through hospitals safely and efficiently. All health boards have improvement plans and additional funding has been provided to support their delivery, in addition to extra funding for local authorities to support improved flow.
This is a key and ongoing area of focus for this Government, NHS Wales and partners as we work towards ensuring that all patients receive timely, safe and dignified care.
