What consideration has the Welsh Government given to reforming planning rules to support the upgrade of existing mobile sites, including changes to height and width limits where needed to support 5G deployment?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning (Siân Gwenllian)
Planning Policy Wales is very supportive, in policy terms, towards the roll-out of new telecommunications infrastructure. Officials have asked the mobile industry, through the industry group Mobile UK, for evidence to underpin the case for further changes to planning legislation in respect of Permitted Development Rights and will be reviewing what is received prior to considering any reforms.
