Will the Welsh Government confirm the year it aspires to hit its net zero target?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
This Government is committed to addressing the climate emergency. Wales has a legally binding target to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, underpinned by decadal emissions reduction targets for 2030 and 2040 and a series of five-year carbon budgets that set the pathway to net zero. In line with commitments in our manifesto and First 100 Days Plan, work is now underway to develop an updated Climate and Nature Action Plan for Wales, which will set out a practical pathway to achieving net zero emissions by 2040 while accelerating nature recovery towards 2050.
