What action will the Cabinet Minister take to respond to Audit Wales report on General Medical Services (GMS) contract challenges in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
I welcome the Audit Wales report and the clarity it provides on the circumstances in which Aneurin Bevan University Health Board historically awarded and managed a number of General Medical Services contracts. The Health Board has accepted the findings and is strengthening its commissioning, due diligence and contract monitoring arrangements in response.
Welsh Government officials have reviewed the findings and are updating national guidance on vacant practice arrangements and GMS contract oversight to reflect the lessons identified by the report. This will help ensure arrangements remain robust, proportionate and consistent across Wales.
