What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the role of existing community-based audiology providers in the implementation of its future approach to audiology services framework?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The Welsh Government has given significant consideration to the role of existing community-based audiology providers in the implementation of its Future Approach for Audiology Services (2025). The framework, developed in collaboration with stakeholders across Wales, builds on successful community models already delivering services in NHS Wales. The approach recognises community audiology provision is important in supporting delivery of care closer to home, improving patient access and releasing capacity within GP, community nursing and hospital ENT services. The framework seeks to expand and strengthen NHS Wales community provision as part of an integrated model of care creating robust strengthened joined up services across Wales.
