Question
What discussions has the Welsh Government had regarding the setting up of a Wales TUC commission to look at the future of devolution and work in Wales, particularly to consider the constitutional aspects of protecting and enhancing the rights of working people?
Answer
Answered by Counsel General and Minister for the Constitution
We are aware the recent Wales TUC Congress voted to establish a commission to look at the future of devolution and work in Wales. The commission will be independent of the Welsh Government and will improve the capacity for trade unions to engage in issues relating to the constitutional future of Wales, particularly in relation to the world of work. We look forward to the commission’s work and its findings. We continue to work closely with trade unions, employers and others, using every lever and every power we have to improve the experience of work and to make work fairer, safer, better rewarded and more secure.
