Question
Will the Welsh Government provide confirmation as to whether outdoor karting tracks are permitted to open in Wales and, if so, what guidance is available to assist them in operating in a COVID-safe environment?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, and Chief Whip
Wales moved into alert level one on June 7. This is being done in a phased way, starting with outdoor activities and events, as a result of the uncertainty caused by the emergence and spread of the delta variant in the UK.
Under the current restrictions, organised outdoor sporting events (including outdoor karting) with a maximum number of up to 4,000 people of any age can now take place.
All organisations arranging these events and activities must carry out a risk assessment and meet the requirements set out in the regulations to take measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
