Will the Minister provide an update on the delivery of a North Wales medical school?

My officials are currently in the process of finalising the draft Terms of Reference and membership for the North Wales Independent Medical School Workstream, this sits under the Medical Expansion Steering Group.
The workstream’s membership will include a wide range of stakeholders with the knowledge and expertise necessary to drive this work forward to fulfil our Programme for Government commitment of an Independent Medical School within North Wales.
As well as the delivery of an Independent Medical School in North Wales, the Medical Expansion Steering Group will also oversee two additional workstreams that will conduct a review on the Wales bursary scheme, incentives and conditionality; and SIFT (service increment for teaching).
The overarching steering group consists of a key stakeholders with an interest in these broader areas, who will work with my officials to bring a strategic perspective across these interdependent areas and help to ensure a balanced and critical approach.
