Question
What are the economic implications for Wales of the UK Government’s announcement on 13 May that it plans to cut up to 91,000 civil service jobs and does the Welsh Government know when the reduction in staffing will occur?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Economy
This is matter for the UK Government. No details have yet been shared with us on the scale or timing of the planned civil service reductions in non-devolved UK Government departments employing people in Wales. Without these details it is not possible for us to make an economic impact assessment at present. I have also made representation to the Secretary of State for Wales.
