Question
What work is the Welsh Government undertaking to increase free childcare for 1 and 2 year olds in Wales following the announcement in the UK Chancellor’s budget that this will be the case in England?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Social Services
Childcare is a key priority for the Welsh Government, and we are already investing heavily to expand childcare and early years provision to all two-year olds in Wales.
We are carefully analysing the impact of the UK Spring Budget (15 March 2023) and will make a more detailed comment when that analysis is complete.
