Question
When was the M4 between junction 45 and 46 last resurfaced?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
The M4 carriageway between junction 45 and 46 was last fully resurfaced with hot rolled asphalt in March 1996.
Hot rolled asphalt has a longer durability and serviceable life than other commonly used surfacing materials.
South Wales Trunk Road Agent (SWTRA) regularly inspects this section of the M4 and repairs carriageway safety-related defects as and when they arise.
