Question
What steps are being taken to verify whether University Hospital Wales and University Hospital Llandough have RAAC in their structures?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has commissioned a study of its estate and the work undertaken to date has identified that a high proportion of buildings either were not constructed during the period of concern or are of a construction method not associated with RAAC panels.
I am advised that site surveys and investigations are ongoing, and a final position will be known in the next few weeks.
In relation to RAAC and the NHS estate more generally, I refer you to the written statement I issued on 13 September https://www.gov.wales/written-statement-reinforced-autoclaved-aerated-concrete-raac-across-nhs-wales
