Question
Will the Minister provide an update on the Welsh Government’s delivery of the North Denbighshire Community Hospital?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services
Given the wider pressures on capital availability across the NHS, the Health Board were informed over a year ago it needed to prioritise its capital schemes. In addition to the Denbighshire Hospital, the Health Board is looking to progress schemes including a Regional Orthopaedic Hub at Llandudno Hospital and a new Adult and Acute Mental Health Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd amongst others.
I can confirm that the Health Board is considering the North Denbighshire Hospital scheme alongside a range of other capital priorities. A round table meeting of strategic partners led by the Health Board will take place over the next few weeks. At this meeting, partners will consider the requirements of any future Denbighshire Hospital and how this could be delivered.
