Question

How will the Welsh Government ensure that Transport for Wales improves its performance in terms of new trains in operation, which was aimed to be 95% by 2023, but is currently only 29%?

We are investing £800m on brand new fleets of trains to deliver the Programme for Government commitment where 95% of journeys are on new trains by 2024.

Currently over 34% of trains in service are brand new, with an additional new train accepted into service every 7 to 10 days.
