Will the Minister provide an update on the North Wales Medical School?

The North Wales Medical School is progressing well with students due to commence their studies next September. The GMC are satisfied with progress following their Stage 5 quality assurance visit in July of this year, allowing the school to proceed with student recruitment, with student interviews scheduled for December and January. The school are now at Stage 6 of the 8-stage accreditation process for new medical programmes, with Cardiff University remaining as a contingent partner.
New academic and professional staff have been recruited and are busy preparing for the new students next Autumn.
