Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary meet with the linguists and academics of the Endangered Languages Alliance to discuss policy to preserve Welsh in urban areas?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language
My officials and I regularly meet with international experts and organisations to discuss policy and international best practice in language planning. We do this on an ad-hoc basis as well as through forums such as the British-Irish Council and the Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity. I carefully consider all requests for meetings, and the same would apply if approached by the Endangered Language Alliance (ELA).
