Question
What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the current suitability of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 with regards to obtaining a gender recognition certificate?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Culture and Social Justice
Officials have met the UK Government to understand the barriers and requested the breakdown of data so we can better understand the statistics relating to Wales. We will be publishing guidance for Trans people applying for identification documents, including GRCs, later this year.
