Question

By when does the Cabinet Secretary envisage schools will receive the expectations against which Estyn will be inspecting secondary schools from September 2025?

Estyn is an independent body, therefore queries around inspection matters should be addressed to His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales.

However, I am aware Estyn has published a guidance handbook that sets out their approach to inspecting maintained schools and PRUs (2024 – 2030), which is available on their web site.

Estyn regularly reviews its approach to the inspection of schools and PRUs to ensure it has due regard to national policy.
