Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary encourage more local authorities to create temporary free gym membership schemes for over 65s?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership
The provision of leisure facilities and activities is a matter for Local Authorities. The Welsh Government does, however, provide funding for the Healthy Weight, Healthy Wales 60+Active Leisure Scheme, which encourages people aged 60 and over to increase their levels of physical activity.
