Question
How is the Welsh Government working to accelerate and simplify the process of transferring from a private patient back to an NHS patient?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Where people have made the personal choice of using the private sector, there is an established process if they wish to return to the NHS at any stage in their clinical journey. This involves a clinical referral back to the NHS either from the private consultant or via their primary care clinician.
The transfer process is covered in the health board operational procedures.
