How is the Cabinet Secretary working with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to ensure that surgeries are performing according to schedule, and postponements are reduced?

Through the special measures intervention, the health board is receiving additional support to improve the productivity and efficiency of its services so that the health board can deliver services in a safe and effective manner, including ensuring procedures and appointments take place as and when planned. There is also a responsibility on patients to ensure they are available and attend their appointments.
The NHS Executive has taken forward the GiRFT all-Wales theatre programme to help improve theatre efficiency and share best practice. Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board was one of the early adopters of the programme.
