Question
Will the First Minster confirm the total cost of running each overseas Welsh Government office, broken down by year since 2014?
Answer
Answered by First Minister (Eluned Morgan)
The budgeted running costs for the overseas office network are as follows.
Year
Cost
2019-20
£5.515m
2020-21
£4.475m
2021-22
£4.642m
2022-23
£5.530m
2023-24
£4.684m
2024-25
£4.684m
Prior to 2019-20, the overseas network costs were published in the annual State of the Estate report. The State of the Estate report for 2018-19 contains a breakdown of running costs from 2014-15 to 2018-19.
Individual costs per overseas office are no longer available due to a change in the way in which the Welsh Government is now charged by the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) for co-location within its offices overseas.
