Question
What action is the Welsh Government taking to help businesses in Wales to navigate any adverse impacts arising from the EU Regulation 2023/988 on General Product Safety?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
The Welsh Government’s Export Trade team, alongside industry experts, delivered a webinar for businesses in Wales on the General Product Safety Regulations in September 2024. The recording of the webinar is available for businesses to access on the Business Wales website.
Alongside support from the Welsh Government’s Export Team, guidance is also provided by our partners within the Wales export ecosystem. For example, the Department for Business and Trade’s UK Export Academy, the Chambers of Commerce in Wales and the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade are providing guidance and information sessions to businesses on the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulation and other technical requirements of exporting.
