Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on RAAC in Welsh schools?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Education
Only five schools were identified in Wales as containing Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC). Mitigation works have been carried out in all schools following specialist engineering advice. This has provided long-term solutions for four of the schools with a medium-term solution for Ysgol Caergybi where a replacement school is being considered.
