Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on what discussions they are having with the National Botanic Garden for Wales on how they are promoting botany?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership
I recently met the Director and Chair of Trustees at NBGW and we discussed a range of matters, including how its horticultural apprenticeship programme, science undergraduate placements, and the NBGW, National Museums of Wales and the National Library of Wales Welsh Culture and Heritage CDP4 Consortium (for Doctoral Training) can help deliver the Welsh Government’s Programme for Government commitments.
NBGW is also launching its inaugural citizen science programme during its 25th anniversary this year. This programme will encourage families to work with some of Wales’s scientific talent to collect biodiversity information on the Garden estate.
