Question
How is the Welsh Government working with health boards to improve communication between hospitals and patients?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Our strategic approach to delivering healthcare in Wales seeks to strengthen the citizens’ voice and to use people’s reported experiences of NHS services together with other quality and safety intelligence to provide a more rounded picture of services. The People’s Experience Framework and People’s Experience Survey will go live in April 2025.
Welsh Government has issued guidance to the NHS in Wales about listening to and continuously engaging with the people they serve. The Guidance on Making Changes to Services sets out our expectations for NHS organisations to continually engage with people in their communities.
We want to enable a culture shift towards a system that is always listening, learning and improving, and that has the trust and confidence of the public.
