Question
Will the Welsh Government develop a biodegradable standard for flushable and non-plastic wet wipes?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
There is no intention to develop a biodegradable standard for flushable and non-plastic wet wipes.
The Welsh Government supports water industry campaigns, such as Welsh Water’s Stop the Block campaign, which encourages the disposal of wet wipes, cotton buds and sanitary products in bins.
