Question
What representations has the Welsh Government made to the UK Government about making the position of Veterans' Commissioner for Wales a permanent appointment?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
The Veterans’ Commissioner for Wales is appointed and funded by the UK Government. I have met with the Minister for Veterans and People within the Ministry of Defence on three occasions in the last year and I have been clear in my view that the role provides an important voice for raising Veterans’ issues in Wales.
