Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary provide a breakdown of reasons why patients were removed from waiting lists for elective care operations for each month of this calendar year?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
The Welsh Government does not hold this level of detail.
There are a variety of reasons why someone may be removed from an elective care waiting list. These range from someone declaring they no long want an operation, to clinical fitness for a procedure because of anaesthetic risk.
The management of removal from waiting lists is covered in the RTT waiting times guidance.
