Question
How many of the six additional training places requested this year by the Royal Society of Anesthetists are going to be funded by the Welsh Government?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW) advises the Welsh Government about the number of healthcare training places required to meet current and future NHS Wales workforce needs. This includes both undergraduate and post graduate professional education.
HEIW produces an annual NHS Education and Training Commissioning Plan. Each year, HEIW considers the workforce plans for health boards, NHS trusts and views and advice from key stakeholders.
