Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on when non-medical prescribers in optometry will be able to utilise the electronic prescription service?

Work is ongoing to explore options for implementing electronic prescribing across all primary care contractors, including optometry, through the Electronic Prescribing Programme.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is currently being rolled out across general practice and community pharmacy settings in Wales, with full implementation scheduled for 2027.
The Welsh Government continues to work with Digital Health and Care Wales and other stakeholders to explore technical solutions that meet interoperability requirements and align with the Digital Architecture Review.
