Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary make a statement on the number of falls in hospitals resulting in deaths in each of the past five years and provide the information broken down by hospital?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
The Welsh Government does not hold this information.
Data on inpatient falls is collected and monitored by health boards and through national audits, such as the National Audit of Inpatient Falls (NAIF). These provide valuable insights into fall-related injuries but they do not routinely publish data on fatalities resulting from falls by hospital.
