Question
How is the Welsh Government working with Estyn to ensure that religion, values and ethics provision in schools in Wales is clearly and consistently evaluated during school inspections?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Education
Religion, values and ethics (RVE) is a statutory part of the Curriculum for Wales.
Through Estyn inspections, inspectors consider how schools and PRUs design and deliver a curriculum that provides pupils with a suitable breadth and depth of learning across all areas of learning and experience.
Officials meet regularly with Estyn to discuss curriculum implementation in schools.
