Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary make a statement on the provision of religion, values and ethics as an element of personal, social, health and economic education and skills-based learning in some secondary schools, including whether this is deemed to be appropriate in meeting mandatory requirements?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Education
Religion, values and ethics (RVE) is compulsory for all learners aged 3–16 in Wales. Schools must provide regular, identifiable RVE either as a discrete subject or integrated with other learning using an objective, pluralistic and critical approach.
