Question
What definition of women does the Welsh Government use in its legislation and policy, and how does it ensure that this aligns with relevant UK law?
Answer
Answered by Counsel General (Elfyn Llwyd)
The Welsh Government does not set a single definition of "female" and "male", instead using the definitions set out in relevant legislation or policy. Our priority is to ensure the law is applied consistently, meets our legal duties and upholds our Welsh values.
