Question
Will the Welsh Government commission research into big cat sightings in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
The Welsh Government is aware of alleged big cat sightings across Wales. It is our policy to assess reports of alleged sightings of and alleged attacks by big cats on livestock in Wales. However, to date, no physical evidence has been provided to support the suggestion that big cats are present in Wales, and as such there are no plans to commission research into big cat sightings at this time.
