Deprivation
The Welsh Government ranks every neighbourhood in Wales, from the most deprived (1) to the least deprived (1,917). It looks at income, jobs, health, education, housing, access to services, safety and the local environment. It describes places, not people: not everyone in a deprived area is poor, and many people on low incomes live elsewhere.
5 of the neighbourhoods here are among the 10% most deprived in Wales, and 1 are among the 10% least deprived. If deprivation were spread evenly, you would expect about 11 of each.
The most deprived is Tyisha 2, ranked 29 of 1,917. The least deprived is Carmarthen Town North 4, ranked 1,773.

About these figures
Each neighbourhood (a Lower layer Super Output Area, the smallest area most official statistics are published for) is placed in the constituency that contains its centre. A constituency's figure for Welsh speakers is the average of its neighbourhoods, which have similar numbers of people.
The maps are read from DataMapWales, the Welsh Government's map service, and checked once a month for updates. Last read 26 October 2026.
