What intentions does the Welsh Government have to make all bus travel in Wales free to Ukrainian refugees?

Welsh Government officials have worked closely with the bus industry to introduce a free bus travel scheme called the ‘Welcome Ticket’. The scheme is available for all refugees travelling to Wales searching for a safe haven in line with Welsh Government’s Nation of Sanctuary policy. Free travel is available on the majority of bus services across Wales on production of valid proof of eligibility as listed under the terms and conditions of the scheme available on Traveline Cymru’s news page on their website.
We continue to work closely with the bus industry to encourage the remaining bus companies to sign up to this important scheme.
