What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the variation in outpatient coding for liver disease based on the accuracy of liver disease prevalence data?

Atebwyd gan Minister for Health and Social Services
Coding is not routinely undertaken in outpatients across the UK, although this has been happening in some health boards in Wales. It is planned to be introduced as part of the Liver Registry work.
Since the All-Wales Liver Blood Test platform was launched a year ago there has been an increase in liver disease and cirrhosis diagnoses and just over a quarter of the GPs in Wales have used the educational resource that supports the pathway. The Liver Disease Implementation Group is working with health boards to use engagement data from the All-Wales Liver Blood Test platform to increase knowledge and engagement with the Liver Blood Test Pathway.
