The Welsh Government expects all health boards and NHS trusts in Wales to maximise the opportunities presented by the availability of biosimilar medicines.
A wide range of measures are in place to support the rapid and widespread adoption of biosimilar medicines. These measures are set out in the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group’s national strategy Maximising the opportunity presented by biosimilar medicines published in 2023 and a national prescribing indicator is in place to measure biosimilar adoption by health boards.
