What steps is the Welsh Government taking to renew the Act FAST campaign to improve public awareness of stroke symptoms and ensure timely access to emergency treatment?

The NHS in Wales is committed to continuing to support a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, FAST/NESA campaign to increase awareness of the signs of stroke and encourage people to dial 999 at the first sign. Opportunities to run this campaign are being explored in partnership with the NHS Executive, Stroke Association Cymru and Public Health Wales.
We continue to work closely with NHS England and have access to the resources developed in support of the FAST campaign. This collaboration is essential to ensure consistent messaging to the public about acting FAST if there are any signs and symptoms of stroke. NHS England’s FAST campaign runs on TV and radio in Wales, which encourages people to dial 999 at the first sign of stroke.
