Question
What assessment has the Cabinet Minister made of the resilience of the Welsh Civil Service during periods of protracted government formation or political transition at Westminster, and what protocols are in place to ensure administrative continuity in cross-border public services?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Government Effectiveness & the Constitution (Dafydd Trystan Davies)
The Welsh Government keeps the resilience of the Civil Service under continual review. Established arrangements, grounded in UK Civil Service constitutional conventions and robust continuity planning, ensure the Civil Service remains impartial, operational and able to maintain essential government business, public services and intergovernmental engagement without interruption during times of transition.
