Pre-appointment hearing for the Chair of the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust: evidence session with the Welsh Government's preferred candidate.
Diolch. Thank you so much for coming in today. Really, I just want to ask if you've got any other appointments that you think could give rise to potential conflicts of interest, or even perceived conflicts of interest, and, if so, how do you propose to manage…
17 September 2026Health and Social Care Committee
General scrutiny session with the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, the Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health and the Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health
I'm going to be very quick because I can see that the time is running out. I'm concerned that there's a bit of a gap in terms of women's healthcare, in terms of cancers that disproportionately affect women. I see there's no specific mention within the women's…
17 September 2026Health and Social Care Committee
General scrutiny session with the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, the Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health and the Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health
Thank you. It's not so much a question, because I know that you're still developing the frameworks and things like that in terms of the digitisation, but just really an assurance that, when you're developing that, that you're looking at procurement…
17 September 2026Health and Social Care Committee
General scrutiny session with the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, the Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health and the Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health
Great. Thank you.
17 September 2026Health and Social Care Committee
General scrutiny session with the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, the Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health and the Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health
Thank you. Just to add on to that, obviously we've got winter around the corner, which is going to add more pressures, as we know, the seasonal pressures. So, I'm just wondering, in terms of the assessments that have been taken, what are the results on that…
17 September 2026Health and Social Care Committee
General scrutiny session with the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, the Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health and the Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health
Brilliant. Can I just add to that as well? I think sometimes there's a lack of communication between staff—and I get that they're very, very pressured, but—a lack of communication between staff and patients, that, 'Actually, you're going to be waiting this…
17 September 2026Health and Social Care Committee
General scrutiny session with the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care, the Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health and the Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health
Thank you. So, I want to talk about the waits within emergency care and A&E, which, as we all know, are a huge problem, and, obviously, the measures that you're going to be taking in terms of waiting lists and things like that will ease pressure, but we've…
16 September 2026Plenary
Questions to the Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport
For reasons including fear of judgment, feeling unsafe, inadequate facilities and a lack of role models, more than a third of girls drop out of grass-roots rugby during their teenage years. While there has been some welcome improvement, there remains a…
30 June 2026Plenary
Statement by the Cabinet Minister for Health and Care: Health and care winter 2026-27 preparedness
Diolch, Ddirprwy Lywydd. I welcome the Cabinet Minister's statement and the emphasis on planning ahead for seasonal pressures. As said, the most effective way of protecting NHS capacity is to prevent illness and hospital admissions in the first place. In my…
30 June 2026Plenary
Questions to the First Minister
Diolch. First Minister, a constituent of mine in Clwyd is currently providing round-the-clock care for his wife, who is living with multiple serious health conditions. Like so many unpaid carers across Wales, he is struggling with the emotional strain…

24 June 2026Plenary
Questions to the Cabinet Minister for Finance
Diolch, Cabinet Minister. While HS2 has often been criticised for its spiralling costs and delays, what is arguably an even greater scandal and injustice is the significant loss of funding to Wales because of these projects being classed as England and Wales…

16 June 2026Plenary
Questions to the First Minister
First Minister, access to GP services has been a long-standing concern for many constituents across Clwyd, particularly in the more socioeconomically deprived coastal communities, where recruitment and retention challenges can be acute. As you say, Plaid…
9 June 2026Plenary
Statement by the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality: Priorities for Social Justice and Equality
Diolch, Ddirprwy Lywydd. Rents in Wales have risen faster than anywhere else in the UK, with average increases of almost 9 per cent a year. UK Government's freeze on the local housing allowance has hit those facing rising rents the hardest, pushing more…
